Cynthia George Joins Horizons Community Solutions as CEO

The Board of Directors of Horizons Community Solutions, formerly the Cancer Coalition of South Georgia, has named Cynthia George as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 26th, 2018.


George brings more than 25 years of experience in fund development, marketing and public relations to Horizons. “Horizons has been a vital health partner in Southwest Georgia for more than ten years and has expanded its mission in the region. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with such a respected team and Board to expand and carry our mission forward”, said George.
 
Most recently, Ms. George was the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Albany State University/Darton College, overseeing advancement, alumni, public relations and marketing efforts. Prior to her role at Albany State, she served as Phoebe Putney’s Vice President of Marketing, Government Affairs and Strategic Planning.

Ms. George has served in numerous capacities in community organizations in the Albany area during her career. She has served as Chair of the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, President of the Charity League of Albany, as well as the Thronateeska, Liberty House, and the Southwest Georgia Food Bank. She co-founded Strive2Thrive, a local anti-poverty organization.
