Tift Regional Health System (TRHS) announced that it has acquired Tifton Ophthalmology and will now employ eye physicians Dr. Bret Wagenhorst and Dr. Robert Holme and the practice’s support staff. Dr. Larry Moorman, founder of Tifton Ophthalmology, has retired. The location in Tifton will remain the same, but the practice name will change to Tift Regional Ophthalmology.

“Dr. Wagenhorst and Dr. Holme are two well-established providers in our region,” said Claire Byrnes, Senior Vice President, Ambulatory Services. “Both are board-certified experts in their field. We are pleased that their practice will continue under the Tift Regional banner.”

Andrea Heath, TRHS Director of Specialty Clinics, said Tift Regional Ophthalmology offers quality medical and surgical eye and vision care.

“These specialists help prevent, diagnose and treat disorders such as dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma, eye tumors and retinal disease,” said Heath. “They provide comprehensive eye care for the entire family, from infants to adolescents to adults and the elderly. Services include routine eye exams, eye exams for glasses and contact lenses, and diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injuries.”
