TRHS to Hold Breast Cancer Month Seminars in Tifton and Ashburn

About 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Tift Regional Health System will be holding free lunch-and-learn seminars in Tifton and Ashburn designed to help empower women in the fight against this invasive disease. The seminars are titled "What Every Woman Should Know About Breast Cancer." These events are free, open to all women and include a complimentary meal. Bring your mom, daughter, sister, niece or friend. Seating is limited and registration is required for both functions. Register in the Calendar of Events section or call 229-353-6316.

TIFTON.

Join OB/GYN nurse practitioner Brooke Robbins, FNP-C with Affinity Physicians for Women for a free lunch-and-learn lecture on the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer on Thursday, Oct. 25, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, at the Tift Regional Community Events Center. Brooke is a nurse practitioner with Affinity Physicians for Women. Brooke works alongside OB/GYN physician Dr. Shannon Price in providing outpatient pregnancy management, gynecologic care and health and wellness education. The Tift Regional Community Events Center is located in Tifton at 1657 S. Carpenter Road, connected to the Tiftarea YMCA. This function is sponsored by Tift Regional and the Affinity Physicians for Women Live Out Loud Series.

ASHBURN.

Join general surgeon Dr. Tracy Nolan with South Georgia Surgical for a free lunch-and-learn lecture on the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm, at First Baptist Church in Ashburn. This function is sponsored by Tift Regional, Ashburn Primary Care, South Georgia Banking Company, the Turner County Health Department and the Prime Timers Club of Ashburn. First Baptist Church is located in Ashburn at 302 McLendon Street. Dr. Nolan is Tift Regional's first female general surgeon, treating a broad spectrum of conditions including hernia repair, thyroid disease, acid reflux, gallbladder problems and more. She also has special passion and training in the treatment of breast cancer.
