Transform yourself into a “New York State of Mind” on Jan. 19 when Mike Santoro brings the sights and sounds of the Big Apple to the historic Tift Theatre with a tribute show featuring the music of the legendary Billy Joel.

Sponsored by the Arts Connection at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Augusta Amusements in cooperation with McAlpin Entertainment, the show, titled “The Stranger,” begins at 7:30 p.m.

“Billy Joel is a favorite performer of a lot of people, and I think this show captures the essence of Billy’s music and his talent at the piano,” Arts Connection Director Wayne Jones said.  “I believe it’s going to be a very entertaining evening.”

Like Joel, Santoro was born and raised in Levittown, N.Y.  Accompanied by a six-piece band that reportedly brings an “authentic replication of Billy’s timeless music, crowning it with soulful spot-on vocals,” Santoro sings all the great Billy Joel songs and adds a few others from remarkable performers such as Paul McCartney and Elton John for an evening at the Tift Theatre that is sure to make for lifetime memories.

Tickets to the performance are $25 each and can be purchased at https://www.purplepass.com/billyjoel or by calling (229) 391-4895.
