Wednesday, August 28th, 2019

Kimberly Blackstock of Regency-Southercare Hospice join the Alzheimer’s Association as the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event Chair in Tifton.

“On a daily base I see the affects it has on the families and our patients living with Alzheimer’s”, added Blackstock. “People being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and other dementias are on the rise, in fact it has become a world-wide epidemic. This walk is so vital to raise funds for research for a cure and to provide much needed resources and support for all of Southwest Georgia”, she added.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research programs. On Walk day, participants will honor those affected by Alzheimer's disease with Promise Flowers during the poignant Promise Garden Ceremony – a moving display of hope to represent the personal reasons participants join together to fight Alzheimer’s.

“We are incredibly grateful to Kimberly for chairing this very important event to help us end Alzheimer’s”, added Dan Phillips, Alzheimer’s Association, Director of Development, Tifton Walk to End Alzheimer’s. “She has been an inspiration to our volunteer committee and has so much passion to our event and help us raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association”, added Phillips.

The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Campus in Tifton. Nearly 300 people from Tifton and surrounding communities are expected at this year’s event to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease.
