With the new school year well under way and many students attending in-person this year, Georgia Power is providing their support with a donation of a variety of school supplies.

Recently, the Citizens of Georgia Power employee volunteer group in Tifton supplied Mims Kids with pencils, notebooks, notebook paper, folders, glue sticks and markers for local students in grades 9-12 for the nonprofit’s “Stay in School” Rally.

The 10th Annual “Stay in School” Rally was held on July 24th and approximately 300 children were served at the drive-through event.

With more than 40 chapters statewide, Citizens of Georgia Power - the employee volunteer arm of the company – gives back to their local communities through in-person and virtual volunteer projects, fundraisers, and donations. In 2020, Citizens’ members logged more than 55,000 hours of service equal to $1.5 million.
