Stars and Stripes Audio

Her stars and stripes are waving; she’s standing guard,
Watching over the lonely battlefield from high above the wall,
She’s battle torn and faded, but she’s still flyin’ proud,
Leading her troops to battle… Old Glory, she’s victory bound.

She stood watch above the harbor, bullets filled the air;
She saw the bombs explode; she was blinded by the glare,
But she held her head up high; she couldn’t let her soldiers down.
She was flyin’ high and proud…Old Glory, she’s victory bound.

Time after time, she led her soldiers on,
Across the Rocky Mountains, Over Pacific waves she’s flown
Through the fields of Western Europe, she fought for liberty,
For freedom and our way of life… she flies, she flies for you and me.

She’s been mocked, been burned, been hated, still she has no fear,
Because she knows that those of honor will defend her year by year,
She didn’t win every single battle, but she’s never lost a war.

And when the dust finally settles down… she’ll be flyin, flyin’ high once more.

Spoken Bridge:

Her stars and stripes have been stained…
With the blood of brave Heroes who fought to defend the freedoms she holds so dear.

Yes a few will protest, some will even take a knee,
But all across this great land, you don’t have to look very far to see,
There are far more of us who proudly stand in awe and respect,
For we know price she paid and the freedom she protects.

Time after time, she led her soldiers on,
Through the jungles of Vietnam, to the heat of Desert Storm,
Leading her soldiers on, she fights for liberty,
For freedom and our way of life… she flies, she flies for you and me.

Now she’s seen her share of tragedy, she watched those towers fall,
She mourned at half-mast, said a prayer for one and all,
They tried to strip her of her dignity, but now she’s more resolved,
Her vengeance fills the air, as she watches… her Heroes marching on.

Time after time, she led her soldiers on,
Throughout modern history, wherever troubles been it’s where she’s gone,
Leading her soldiers on, she stands for liberty,
For freedom and our way of life… she’s flies, she flies for you and me.
