The 2024 Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Homecoming is kicking off on April 5 in the spirit of the Olympics with the theme of “Bring Home the Gold.”

“Our alumni are some of the most accomplished people in the Southeast, and it is always great to reunite with them on campus,” said Lynda Fisher, Director of Alumni and Special Events. “We have many activities for the entire family and hope the community will join us as well.”

This year’s Homecoming events include the Gee Haw Whoa Back Rodeo, Alumni Cookout, Alumni Awards Luncheon, Golden Alumni Reunion, Remembrance Service, and a plant sale. There are also multiple reunions planned for Saturday, April 6, at 1:30 p.m., including an Agricultural Education reunion at the Ag Technologies Building, Forestry and Wildlife at the Langdale Forest, Housing and Resident Assistance Reunion at Lakeside Lobby, and a Student Government Association Reunion at the Carlton Center.

A full schedule of all the events can be found at www.abac.edu/homecoming.

Ten of ABAC’s most accomplished alumni will be honored at the Alumni Awards Luncheon on Friday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m. in Gressette Gymnasium. Tickets are $25 and must be purchased by March 28. After that date, the cost will be $30 with no tickets being sold at the event. That evening, the Alumni After Party will take place at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the Alumni House patio following the rodeo.

On April 6, a Remembrance Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the ABAC Chapel, remembering students and alumni who have passed away, and honoring those currently serving in our military. An Alumni Cookout will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Lakeside Lawn. Cookout tickets are $15.

Alumni can put their green thumb to work by purchasing flowers and shrubs from the ABAC Farm Greenhouse on Thursday and Friday, April 4-5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday hours for the plant sale are 9 a.m. until noon.

Sports fans will be able to watch a variety of games on April 6, starting at 1 p.m. with the ABAC baseball team playing a doubleheader against South Georgia State College at Stallion Field and the Fillies soccer team playing a scrimmage game against Andrew College at 3 p.m. at the Fillies Soccer Field.

The annual Gee Haw Whoa Back Rodeo will kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are $20 for ages 18 and over, $10 for ages 6-17, and free for ages 5 and under. Current students with an ABAC ID get in free on Friday night.
