The Southern Regional Technical College Foundation recently received a generous donation from AT&T. They have long been a supporter of technical education, and have shown that support through numerous donations to the Foundation over the years. On Tuesday, October 2, 2018 AT&T Georgia’s Courtney Brinson, Regional Director for External Affairs, presented SRTC President Dr. Craig Wentworth with a donation to the College’s Foundation.
“AT&T recognizes the importance of technical education to our community and to the work force,” said Brinson. “AT&T is committed to advancing education, strengthening communities and improving lives. Supporting education has been a major focus for AT&T for more than a century, and education is our key philanthropy focus. We are driven to help students succeed—in school, in the workplace and in life. We are proud to be able to make this donation to SRTC and commend them for the great job they do in serving this area’s educational and career training needs.”
The Foundation will use these funds to support scholarships that reward students for their academic achievement. They will also provide financial support to students who need assistance with tuition, books, and other fees. By offering more scholarships for students, the Foundation and SRTC hope to improve the job skills, technical training, and educational level of the citizens of their community.
“AT&T’s generous, long-time support of the students, faculty, and staff of SRTC is sincerely appreciated. Changes to college funding over the last few years have forced many students to seek additional assistance from the Southern Regional Technical College Foundation, assistance that would not be possible without the continued support from our College partners like AT&T.” said Amy Maison, SRTC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Marketing.
As one of SRTC’s loyal contributors, AT&T is recognized on the College’s Donor Wall, which highlights the cumulative and annual donations of all supporters of the SRTC Foundation.
“Without the support of our community partners such as AT&T and Mr. Courtney Brinson, we would have difficulty providing the services that are so important to both our students and our community,” said SRTC President Dr. Craig Wentworth.
