New ways to connect to Tift Regional health information

• Enroll in Tift Regional’s patient portal at www.mytiftregional.com for access to health records and more.

• Download the new Tift Regional app at the Apple or Android app store to access patient portal and for other features.

• Consolidate Tift Regional health records with other participating healthcare institutions on the Apple Health app.

Tift Regional Health System (TRHS)/Southwell announced that its patient portal now has an easier self-enroll option and can be accessed through a new app for all mobile devices as well as the Apple Health app on iPhones and iPads. In addition, TRHS has a new Tift Babies app with helpful tools for expecting parents.

“Our goal is to better place health information and resources at the fingertips of our patients,” said Chris Efaw, TRHS Vice President, Outreach and Development. “Up until recently, patients had to request that an email invitation be sent from one of our facilities or provider offices to establish a connection to the patient portal. Now, patients have the option to self-enroll at www.mytiftregional.com.”

Efaw said the patient portal is a convenient and secure health-management tool patients can use anywhere they have access to the internet. “Through the portal, patients can access electronic health records, correspond with providers, make online payments, and request appointments or prescription refills,” he stated.

The patient portal can also be accessed through new specialized apps for mobile devices.

“Patients can enter patient portal through the new Tift Regional app, which can be downloaded from the Apple or Android app store,” he said. “Other Tift Regional app features include a provider directory, wayfinding directions at Tift Regional Medical Center, directions to facilities and clinics, and more. We also have a separate Tift Babies app for obstetrical patients which includes a pregnancy tracker, education, provider directory, and class schedules.”

TRHS is also a partner with the Apple Health app, which is automatically installed on all iPhone and iPad devices.

“This is great new feature on the Apple Health app,” Efaw said. “In the past, patients’ medical records were held in multiple locations, requiring patients to log into each care provider’s website and piece together the information manually. Using new technology, Apple worked with the healthcare community to take a consumer-friendly approach in transferring electronic medical records. Users can have medical information from Tift Regional and other participating healthcare institutions organized into one view. “

Efaw stressed that the patient portal and app options are all encrypted and designed to protect privacy.
