Country music legend Tracy Lawrence is coming to Tifton, and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is gearing up for an exciting weekend this November.

“Stage Lights & Rodeo Nights” is a weekend event for the Tifton region. Lawrence will perform at John Hunt Auditorium Nov. 12, followed by two nights of the PCA Pro Rodeo on ABAC’s campus Nov. 13-14. Details are available at link.abac.edu/events.

“We are proud to welcome Tracy Lawrence to ABAC for a weekend that showcases the very best of our college,” said Dr. Tracy Brundage, ABAC president. “With the concert and rodeo, guests will experience the traditions, excitement and sense of community that make ABAC special.”

Lawrence's career has spanned more than three decades, and with 18 No. 1 singles and 13 million albums sold, he has become a cornerstone of modern country music. Consistently nominated for awards from the Academy of Country Music, the Country Music Association and the Grammys, Lawrence won the ACM's Top New Male Vocalist award in 1993. Both the ACM and CMA honored “Find Out Who Your Friends Are” as Vocal Event of the Year in 2007 and 2008.

Beyond the stage, Lawrence is involved in numerous media and charity projects. His longtime podcast, “TL's Road House,” connects Lawrence with a wide range of artists and personalities, and his work with the Nashville Rescue Mission has seen 15,000 Thanksgiving turkeys fried and $1.3 million raised for those in need. In recognition of his philanthropy, Country Radio Seminar named him the recipient of its 2023 Artist Humanitarian Award.

After more than 30 years, Lawrence's legacy continues to evolve. He toured in 2024 with artists like Riley Green, Luke Bryan and Lainey Wilson in addition to his first-ever headlining show at the Ryman Auditorium. He revisited his catalog with “Hindsight 2020 Vols. 1, 2 and 3” and “Live at Billy Bob's Texas” and most recently released his “Out Here In It” EP.

Bobby Ray Staudt, senior agricultural communications major, expressed excitement when he was told about Lawrence’s concert.

“I am a big country music fan, and hearing this music live right here at ABAC is a memory that I will cherish,” Staudt said. “Plus, since I am not too far away from home, I'm excited to bring my family along.”

Tickets for the concert go on sale July 3 at link.abac.edu/events.
