Staff Report From Tifton CEO

Monday, January 22nd, 2018

High school students will have an opportunity to visit Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and experience a slice of college life on Feb. 3 during Stallion Day. Registration begins at 8 a.m. in the Donaldson Dining Hall.

A welcome and overview of the day will be held from 9-9:20 a.m. in the Donaldson Dining Hall. Prospective students and families can then follow their own path from 9:30-11:50 a.m. to make Stallion Day a tailor-made experience. For instance, if students are interested in a degree in biology, they can visit the School of Arts and Sciences to talk with faculty before touring the new state-of-the-art lab sciences building or the recently renovated King Hall. Students can also take advantage of information sessions on various topics including the ABAC Honors Program and applying for admission and financial aid.

A free lunch for the visiting students will be provided from noon–1 p.m. High school seniors and transfer students from other colleges present at the luncheon can enter a drawing for prizes which will include one $500 tuition waiver, two housing application fee waivers valued at $235 each, and a one semester meal plan valued at $1,500.

Beginning at 1:15 p.m., students and guests can continue to apply for admission and financial aid, take a tour of the ABAC Lakeside housing complex, or take part in a housing question and answer session.

The ABAC bookstore will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for those who want to browse for ABAC apparel and accessories. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the ABAC Concert Choir will perform in the Chapel of All Faiths. Campus clubs and organizations will be set up from 9:30 a.m.-noon in various locations across campus to provide prospective students with more information on how to get involved in student activities.
