Tift Regional to Hold Heart and Vascular Symposium for Health Professionals February 3rd

Tift Regional Health System will be holding its second annual “Heart and Vascular Symposium: Advancing Cardiac and Vascular Care” for area health professionals on Feb. 3.   The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Tift Regional Medical Center, located in Tifton at 901 East 18th Street.  Online registration is available at www.tiftregional.com.

This educational seminar is open to primary care physicians, hospitalists, cardiologists, vascular surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, physiologists and other medical professionals interested in cardiovascular medicine.

“Last year’s event was a big success,” said Demarius McRae, TRMC Director of Cardiovascular Services.  “We had great attendance from health professionals from all around Georgia and north Florida.”

McRae said the event is spearheaded by Tift Regional’s cardiovascular physicians, which include interventional cardiologists Dr. Paul Murray and Dr. Anthony Burke with Affinity Group; interventional cardiologist Dr. Jonathan Tronolone with Tronolone Cardiovascular; invasive cardiologist Dr. William Hancock with Tiftarea Cardiology; and, vascular surgeon Dr. William Kaiser with Tift Regional Vascular.

Guest speakers at the event include specialists from the University of Florida, Emory University and Augusta University.   Topics will cover the latest advancements in heart failure treatment, stroke management, heart transplantation, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac electrophysiology, vascular disease procedures, cardiac interventions and more.

“Bill Reinhardt, who serves as Chief Judge, Superior Courts for the Tifton Judicial Circuit, will also discuss common liability issues present in Georgia malpractice cases,” said McRae.

TRMC is accredited by the Medical Association of Georgia to provide continuing medical education credits for physicians.   The Southwest Georgia Area Health Education Center, a co-sponsor of the event, is authorized through the Georgia Board of Nursing to provide continuing education credits for nurses as well.
