Rebecca Cofer has been an asset to the students of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College since she became an ABAC staff member in 2009. Her passion is helping others succeed, and she exudes it every day as the Coordinator of Campus Tutoring Services. Recently, her dedication paid dividends when the National College Learning Center Association presented her with the Level III Learning Center Leadership Certification.
“I felt it was important that I become certified to be a model to students working as tutors,” said Cofer. “They are required to earn certification, and I wanted to also.”
Cofer found out about the possibility of being certified when she was attending a College Reading and Learning Association conference. She researched the topic and determined that she met the process requirements. With the help of her peers, Cofer was able to complete all documentation over the ABAC holiday break.
Actively involved in the Georgia Tutoring Association, Cofer currently serves as Social Media Coordinator for the organization. She attends conferences throughout the year for learning center professionals and brings a wealth of knowledge to ABAC.
“It is a great time to be at ABAC,” said Cofer. “The institution is flourishing during a time when many others are struggling. I am happy to be a part of the ABAC Family.”
