Four students from the Ag Communicators of Tomorrow club at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College assisted with the recent Georgia FFA Foundation’s 11th Annual Blue and Gold Gala at the St. Regis Hotel in Buckhead.
Interns Laura Lee Williams, an agricultural communication major from Thomasville, Loren Lindler, an agricultural communication major from Lexington, S.C., Sadie Hobbs, a core curriculum major from Cleveland, and Shannon Kehoe, an agricultural communication major from Myakka City, Fla., assisted throughout the night by maintaining the Foundation’s social media accounts.
“They worked with minimum supervision and did a tremendous job showcasing to our supporters what the Blue and Gold Gala is all about,” Hillery Reeves, Assistant Director of Development and an ABAC alumnus, said.
Over 600 guests attended the Gala in effort to raise money to support Georgia’s 42,000 FFA members. ABAC alumnus Elton Baldy served as the auctioneer during the live auction that followed dinner.
“The interns had the opportunity to interact and network with guests from over 60 different businesses and industries in attendance,” Reeves said. “They interviewed guests, took photographs, and videoed the evening.”
