TRMC Foundation’s Havana Nights Gala to Raise Funds for Mobile Clinic April 14th

Staff Report From Tifton CEO

Thursday, April 12th, 2018

The Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation will be holding its annual black-tie optional gala on April 14, 7:00 p.m. to midnight, at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center.  The theme of this year’s event is “Havana Nights” and all proceeds will go towards the purchase of a mobile clinic to help provide medical care to underserved areas in the region.

“Mobile clinics are customized vehicles that travel to the heart of communities, providing prevention and healthcare services to vulnerable populations,” said Mandy Brooks, executive director of the TRMC Foundation.  “They overcome barriers of time, money and trust.”

Brooks said the focus is on preventive care.  “Services offered by the mobile clinic will include well checks, sick visits, immunizations, screenings, referrals to specialty care, chronic disease management, access to community resources and more,” she said.  “Mobile clinics have been shown to overcome barriers to access and build trusting relationships to reduce disparities, improve health, and reduce costs.”

Brooks said tickets for the gala are $125 per person.  The event includes a seated dinner, live music, dancing, a silent auction and a diamond giveaway.   “With a Cuban theme this year, the gala will be a fun evening for a great cause,” said Brooks.  “We really appreciate the community’s support.”
