Auditions on January 28th-29th for ‘The Tempest’ at ABAC
Friday, January 18th, 2019
Auditions for the Baldwin Players’ production of “The Tempest” will be held on Jan. 28-29 at 6:30 p.m. in Howard Auditorium at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
Dr. Brian Ray, director of the Baldwin Players, said “The Tempest” is sure to bring Howard Auditorium to life during this spectacular performance on March 7-9.
“Filled with magic, hidden powers and supernatural beings, this Shakespearean performance will send the audience’s imagination on a spiraling journey through the sands of a remote island,” Ray said. “The plot features Prospero, a sorcerer, and Antonio, his evil brother, in a conniving performance.”
Prospective cast members are not required to have anything prepared but will read a passage from the script during their audition. Auditions begin at 6:30 each night.
“Auditions are always a fun time to get to know more about the characters and other possible cast members involved in the performance,” Ray said.
Auditions are open to anyone interested, including students, faculty, staff and members of the community. No prior experience in theater is required, and individuals can take advantage of this excellent opportunity to learn more about modern play production.
With 12-16 roles available, men and women are encouraged to audition and see if they are a fit for any of the available positions. Those interested can contact Ray at [email protected] or (229) 391-4969.
