Tift Regional Medical Center Announces Eight Additional Positive COVID-19 Cases
Friday, March 27th, 2020
Officials with Tift Regional Medical Center (“TRMC”) announced that they received eight additional confirmed positive COVID-19 test results over the past two days.
Of the 11 total positive patients, three are inpatients. The other eight are currently being isolated at home. Over the same two day period, TRMC officials were also notified of 59 negative COVID-19 lab results.
“While we don’t minimize the impact of the positive test results for the eight additional patients, we know the 59 patients who received the negative results are relieved,” said Chris Dorman, Southwell President and CEO. “This also shows that we are currently receiving many more negative results than we are positive, and this is a trend we hope continues.”
The Georgia Department of Public Health has been notified of these additional positive cases. TRMC officials are still waiting on test results for 38 patients.
