City Refrains From Church Rezoning Vote
Tuesday, February 1st, 2022
Due to concerns about potential use in the future, Tifton City Council refrained from making a decision on the rezoning request from the First Assembly Church of God in January.
City Council received an application to rezone 3.21 acres of land belonging to the church from a residential designation to general business to allow the church to upgrade to a digital sign.
Two special called meetings were held Jan. 10 and 11 to discuss the request and hear opinions from residents living near the area, most of whom favored the rezoning.
