Railroad Reschedules State Route Crossing Maintenance

CSX Transportation has rescheduled maintenance at two of three crossings located on state routes in Crisp, Turner and Wilcox counties.

Each crossing is expected to be closed for five days, which will require non-local traffic to detour. Dates are subject to change again depending on weather, the railroad's schedule or other factors. Check for updates at Georgia DOT - Southwest on Facebook and @GDOTSW on X.

Crisp County, US 41/State Route (SR) 7 in Cordele, currently scheduled to close at  8 a.m. Sept. 17 (previous date was Sept. 24). Detour roads will be US 280/SR 30, Fifth Street and Eighth Avenue. Cordele city officials have given Georgia DOT permission to detour traffic onto city streets.

Wilcox County, SR (SR) 159 at milepost 0.34, currently scheduled to close at 8 a.m. Sept. 24(previous date was Sept. 17). Detour roads will be Hatley Road, Williford Crossing Road and SR 90. Wilcox County officials have given Georgia DOT permission to detour traffic onto county roads.

Turner County, SR 112 in Rebecca, currently scheduled to close at 8 a.m. Sept. 24 (no change). Detour roads will be SR 233 and SR 90.
