Tatyana Pashnyak, a business lecturer at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, will kick off the college’s acclaimed Jess Usher Lecture Series on October 24.

“Servant leadership is important because it fosters an environment where people feel valued and supported, leading to higher levels of trust, engagement, and collaboration,” said Pashnyak. “The best leaders are those who lead by example, demonstrating humility, empathy, and a commitment to the growth of those around them.”

According to Pashnyak, this lecture delves into the core principles of servant leadership, a model that challenges traditional models.

“We will explore extensive research and case studies demonstrating how servant leadership not only enhances employee engagement and satisfaction but also leads to superior organizational performance, innovation, and a robust, positive culture,” she said. The lecture is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at ABAC’s Howard Auditorium. Each Usher Lecture Series event is free and open to the public.

The Jess Usher Lecture Series features a carefully curated slate of dynamic presentations, drawn from a wide range of disciplines and delivered by distinguished members of the ABAC faculty as well as distinguished guest lecturers. Formerly known as the ABAC Lecture Series, this special collection has been renamed in memory of Dr. Jess Usher, a beloved ABAC professor and former lecturer in the series, who passed away in June 2021.
