Staff Report From Georgia CEO

The Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Foundation recently made a donation of a premature “Anne Manikin” to the Obstetrics department at Tift Regional Medical Center.

“This donation will enhance our obstetrics department’s ability to teach life-saving skills for pre-term births,” said Mandy Brooks, executive director of the TRMC Foundation.

This training manikin, which simulates a 25-week-old baby, plays a critical role in preparing staff for the first crucial moments of life, especially for premature infants. Those initial ten minutes are vital, as complications from preterm births remain one of the leading causes of mortality in children under five.

Brooks added, “This manikin will not only improve patient care but also bolster staff confidence as they prepare to support our most vulnerable patients.”
