Tim Golden Reelected to Represent Congressional District 8 on State Transportation Board of Georgia

Tim Golden has been reelected to represent Georgia's Congressional District 8 (CD 8) on the State Transportation Board of Georgia to serve his third, five-year term that runs through April 2030. He was reelected by a caucus of state representatives and senators from CD 8, which encompasses 29 counties in south and central Georgia.
Tim Golden spent 10 years as a congressional assistant to U.S. Congressman Charles Hatcher. In 1990, he was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives where he served for eight years. Mr. Golden was then elected to the Georgia State Senate in 1998 where he served for another 16 years before retiring from the Georgia General Assembly in 2014. In 2015, he was elected to his first term on the State Transportation Board of Georgia.
Mr. Golden, a graduate of Valdosta State University, has been named to Georgia Trend Magazine's 100 'Most Influential Georgians' list three times. He is married to the former Ellen Stewart of Valdosta, a Lowndes County State Court Judge. The couple have a son, Seth, who is a practicing attorney in Atlanta.
The 14-member State Transportation Board determines policy and governs the Georgia Department of Transportation. Each member is elected by a caucus of Georgia General Assembly members from their specific congressional district. Board members serve staggered, five-year terms.
