The Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Foundation has awarded the third annual Terry Arthur Physician Assistant Scholarship to Marlaina Reaves.

Since 2021, Reaves has worked at Southwell as a physical therapy assistant. Originally from Fitzgerald, she is "eager to help patients on their road to recovery," according to Mandy Brooks, Executive Director of the TRMC Foundation. Reaves has been accepted into the Berry College Physician Associate Program for August 2025 and is scheduled to graduate in August 2027.

The scholarship is funded by contributions from area Physician Assistants and is named after Terry Arthur, Tifton's first Physician Assistant and a founding member of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants. Arthur graduated from UAB in 1973 and joined Tifton Medical Clinic, now Southwell Medical Clinic. He currently works part-time at Tift Regional's Heart and Vascular Center.

Brooks notes that Arthur "has been instrumental in training and mentoring Physician Assistant students and graduates."
