ABAC’s Homecoming and Gee Haw Whoa Back Rodeo Set for April 10—11

Saddle up, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College partners. Homecoming, featuring the high-flying Gee Haw Whoa Back Rodeo, makes a return to campus April 10—11 with a full weekend of activities.

This year’s homecoming theme is “Greetings from ABAC, ‘Moore’ Than Just an Address,” reflecting Moore Highway as a place where students experience more than just an education. “Our hope in welcoming alumni back to campus is they are reminded of ABAC’s impact on their lives,” said Lynda Fisher, director of alumni and special events. “We would love for alumni and friends to join us for this weekend as we reconnect with others on campus."

Friday, April 10

  • ABAC Plant Sale | 9 a.m.—5 p.m. | ABAC Farm Greenhouse

Gates for the rodeo open each night at 6 p.m. with events beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults ages 18 and older. Tickets for ages 6-17 are $10 each, and 5 and younger are free. A VIP access add-on is $10. Tickets are valid for one night only. Tickets will be sent electronically on April 9 to the email provided at purchase.

Hillery Culpepper of ABAC’s Office of College Advancement said that this year a limited number of VIP seating tickets will be sold. “Secure those tickets fast as VIP seating is limited,” said Culpepper.

All current ABAC Alumni Association members will receive free admission to Saturday night's rodeo by presenting their digital membership card at the gate.

ABAC’s Golden Girls will perform before Friday night’s rodeo and during intermission Homecoming Royalty will be crowned and the coveted Stallion Cup will be awarded.  Each night, children are invited to participate in the boot scramble during intermission. “The two action-packed nights will feature bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, tie-down calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bull riding,” Culpepper said.
