Every Drop Counts: Help Conserve Tifton's Water Supply!
Wednesday, April 29th, 2026
Every drop of water used in Tifton counts, and it is important to conserve our water supply at all times, but especially during conditions that can stress our water system. Our water system levels must be conserved at this time due to continuing drought conditions and low precipitation levels in our area. As of April 2026, south Georgia remains under the Exceptional Drought category by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. As of April 27, 2026, there is a state-wide Drought Response Level 1 for public water systems.
To help conserve our water in Tifton, please note that:
Outdoor watering is permitted only during 4pm-10am. Please do not water during 10am-4pm.
This pertains to outdoor watering activities - actions relating to daily outdoor watering for purposes of planting, growing, managing, or maintaining ground cover, trees, shrubs, or other plants only between the hours of 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. by anyone whose water is supplied by Tifton's water system.
These local water use conservation practices are in conjunction with provisions outlined in the Georgia Water Stewardship Act.
We thank our residents for their efforts towards water conservation and their understanding during this time.
