A piece of legislation that stalled in the Georgia legislature would have given a big boost to tiny homes in Georgia, making it easier to build small houses like the ones on Norris Street in East Macon.

House Bill 1166 would ban cities and counties from using local zoning rules to block homes 400 square feet or smaller on land that already allows housing. The bill failed to pass the Georgia Senate before Sine Die, the end of Georgia's legislative session.
