Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Monday, April 13th, 2026

Music is in the air at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, with two performances at Howard Auditorium this week

The Choral and Band Concert, themed "Spirit of Aloha – Hawaii," celebrates America’s 50th state. The program includes a tribute to Pearl Harbor, several guest artist appearances and island-themed surprises. The concert will be held April 14 at 7 p.m.

The repertoire contains works such as “Sonic Pathways,” featuring talented senior soloist Taylor Stegall on soprano saxophone. Admission is free and open to the public.

Musicians include ABAC's band and chorus, as well as community members. The band director is Deborah Bradley and the choral director is Marti Schert.

“Deborah Bradley has done an incredible job creating this collaborative performance,” Schert said. “We are very excited for guests to experience this unique event."

ABAC will present its Jazz Concert on April 16 at 7 p.m., featuring the Joe Gransden Quartet with the ABAC Jazz Ensemble.

Gransden, a trumpeter who originally formed his group in 2009, has released 14 CDs under his own name. One of the releases, "Close to My Heart," was produced by Kenny G, who also has a saxophone solo on Gransden's "Go Getta." He has performed at New York's Blue Note and at Feinstein's/54 Below as well as for sold-out crowds all over the country. The Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Andrew Peal.

Adult admission is $22.37 per ticket. Student tickets are $11.82. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit link.abac.edu/jazzconcert.
