ABAC First Tuesday Concert Series Opens Sept. 1 with Music Faculty Performance

The 2026-27 First Tuesday Concert Series at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will open Sept. 1 with a performance by ABAC’s music faculty.
The concert will feature voice, piano, saxophone, trombone and trumpet performances, with selections spanning from the Romantic era to contemporary works. The program will include pieces by Schubert, Steven, Nestico and York.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Howard Auditorium. All First Tuesday concerts are free and open to the public, and no tickets are required.
“We are going to have a fantastic performance by our very talented music faculty, which will kick off this season’s great lineup,” Dr. Jennifer Huang, head of the Fine Arts Department, said. “Please join us for an evening of beautiful music.”
The First Tuesday Concert Series will continue throughout the 2026-27 academic year with performances featuring a variety of artists and musical styles. The Oct. 6 concert will feature dramatic soprano Dr. Harmony Murphy and Spanish guitarist Andrew Gomez-Ramirez of California. Huang will present a harpsichord recital Nov. 3. The series will resume Feb. 2, 2027, with a performance by soprano Dr. Youngmi Kim of Georgia College & State University, followed by Duo Fuerza, featuring James D’León and Alwen Yeung in a four-hand piano recital, on March 2, 2027.

ABAC offers an Associate of Fine Arts in Music degree for students interested in developing their musical skills while preparing for continued study. The program offers concentrations in instrumental and vocal performance and combines individual instruction with coursework in music theory. Students also have opportunities to perform in ABAC’s large and small ensembles alongside other music majors and students from across the college.
