Southwell announces its commemoration of Nurses Week 2024, recognizing the invaluable contributions of nurses in healthcare. This annual celebration, observed from May 6 to May 12, serves as a tribute to the dedication, compassion, and commitment of nurses worldwide.

As the backbone of healthcare, nurses play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of patients, often serving as advocates, educators, and caregivers. Particularly amidst the challenges posed by the global pandemic, nurses have demonstrated resilience, courage, and selflessness in the face of adversity.

This year’s Nurses Week theme, “Nurses Make the Difference,” resonates with Southwell's mission to recognize and celebrate the efforts of nurses who continue to inspire hope and healing in our communities.

Southwell expresses its gratitude to all nurses, both within the health system and across the healthcare spectrum, for their dedication and sacrifice. In commemoration of Nurses Week 2024, Southwell has planned a series of special events and initiatives to honor and celebrate nurses' contributions.

“We are so grateful for the tireless dedication and compassion demonstrated by nurses every day,” said Tonia Garrett, Chief Nursing Officer for Southwell. “Nurses Week is an opportunity for us to express our appreciation for their unwavering commitment to patient care and their pivotal role in promoting health and healing.”

Southwell invites individuals and organizations to join in honoring nurses during this week, and are encouraged to share their stories of a nurse that has inspired or impacted them by emailing it to [email protected].
